I'm Lisa, the founder of Cherish Your Sleep, Co-Regional Director (Australia/Pacific) of The Association of Professional Sleep Consultants, an experienced certified baby/child sleep consultant and a mother to 3 young children.
I have always loved children and I've worked in the industry for over 20 years as a qualified child care worker, working primarily with children aged 0 – 3yrs.
After a move to Melbourne in 2000, I was given the opportunity to open and operate numerous new child care centres throughout Victoria, which I did for 7 years until accepting a position at the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
In 2009 I made motherhood my primary focus, and had three children within 3 years. Becoming a mum and meeting and seeing other mums struggle with their babies and children’s sleep made me really want to reach out and help.
I'm a certified maternity and child sleep consultant, and I've also successfully completed the Advanced Diploma and recently completed a Professional Intensive Course through Hand in Hand Parenting. With this knowledge, I use a holistic approach to sleep, focusing on emotional wellbeing of families and ensuring the parent child connection in not only maintained, but enhanced.
I know how easy it is to become overwhelmed and frustrated so it's my passion to help find solutions that will work for you, your baby and the rest of your family. A successful outcome is not only good for the parents and children, but gives me such a sense of satisfaction and happiness. There’s nothing better than hearing from a parent who finally got their first full night sleep since having a child.
I go into every consultation with an open mind and believe that there is no one way that is going to suit every family.
There are many fundamental factors that can impact on sleep and I will endeavour to ensure they are put into place in a way that is comfortable for the family and respectful to your child.
Together we will work to ensure you reach your sleep goals. I pride myself on my level of support and look at this as a journey to take together.
