08 Jul IT’S NOT JUST HER SLEEP THAT’S BEEN HELPED
Zoe now goes down super well at night with just a couple of mins of cuddles and popped into her bed with bunny (well it’s now 2 bunnies!). The only really unsettled nights she’s had were 3 last week cutting a new tooth, where she woke 2-3 times pretty upset. She still generally wakes at 3am and I feed her, then up around 6. So that’s ok. Sometimes she wakes 1 other time but I tell her no boob (because she says “do-do, do-do”, which is boob) and she has a bit of a grizzle and generally goes back to sleep easily (occasionally gets really upset and takes longer). We went to cut the 3am feed/wake but there was some concern from the health nurse about a slow in weight gain – so have held off a bit longer and will go for it from the next check up, just to keep those few extra calories since she’s not getting them when I’m at work. No issues with that for now, and we’ll know what to do to cut it in the next couple of weeks. She also goes down fine with Dad and Grandparents (and childcare) for naps so that’s fab too – up to 1.5hrs each sleep no problem!
So THANK YOU so much for being adaptable to the gentle approach that we wanted. We’re heaps more confident in her abilities to sleep – which has been helped so much with the open communication. People are amazed at how she looks at us when we’re telling her what’s going to happen in the day – she even nods and says “yah!”. So it’s not just her sleep that’s been helped but how we relate with her too. But the sleep is AWESOME hahah. I’ve already recommended you to 2 others and will continue to do so if anyone is having a hard time.”
